Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Bayou Sara is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community and spreads to every nation. Bayou Sara members are involved in a variety of ministries.

Music Ministry

God-honoring worship through music is one of our priorities as a church. Whether it is praising the Lord through playing an instrument or singing in the choir, our desire is to lift high the wonderful name of Jesus Christ through music.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a tremendous privilege. In an age of widespread technology, we desire to use these tools for Kingdom purposes. Very soon our weekly sermons will be uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook account for additional church communication.

Prayer Ministry

Bayou Sara is a body of believers dependent upon prayer and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday during the morning worship service, volunteers pray for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, prayer team members pray for one another and for the needs of others. Each Wednesday evening, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Bayou Sara is committed to local, national, and international missions. In doing this, we offer a wide-array of opportunities for people to serve. These ministries include: Backyard Bible School, Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, Food Bank, School Uniform and School Supply Ministry, AHEPA Bible Study, Alabama Children’s Home, Any Soldier Gift Boxes, Mexico Missions, Disaster Relief, Bereavement, and others.

Disiple-Town Children’s Ministry

On Sunday morning, to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Bayou Sara uses a Disciple-Town service in conjunction with the main service. This special worship service allows children more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our Disciple-Town volunteers have an endless supply of creativity as they share the good news of Jesus to children. At the present time, Disciple-Town is for children K5 – 5th grade.

Youth Impact

(A Place Where Youth Far From God Can Find Real Life in Jesus Christ)
Youth Impact meets every Sunday morning, evening, and Wednesday evening in the Filling Station (accessible from the back parking lot). Whether it is for Bible study or a time of worship, Youth Impact is a place students can find real-life answers for real-life questions.

College & Young Singles Ministry

College and Young Singles are an important ministry at Bayou Sara. They meet each Sunday and Wednesday evening for Bible study and fellowship.

Bayou Adults

Bayou Adults is a ministry for adults of all ages. They meet the third Friday of each month for fun, travel, and fellowship.

Food Bank for our Community

We are committed to help in meeting needs of our local community. One of the ways we do this is through our food bank. Our food bank is an equal opportunity establishment that assists residents of Saraland who are in need. Our food bank is open every Tuesday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am and Thursday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm. It is located in Building C, the metal building in the rear parking lot. To receive assistance, you will need to have an ID and proof of residence.
