Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Bayou Sara is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community and spreads to every nation. Bayou Sara members are involved in a variety of ministries.

Bayou Worship Ministry

God-honoring worship through music is one of our priorities as a church. Whether it is praising the Lord through playing an instrument, singing in the choir, or working with our technical staff, our desire is to ultimately lift high the wonderful name of Jesus Christ through congregational singing.

Bayou Prayer Ministry

Bayou Sara is a body of believers dependent upon prayer and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday during the morning worship service, volunteers pray for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, prayer team members pray for one another and for the needs of others. Each Wednesday evening, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Bayou Missions

Bayou Sara is committed to local, national, and international missions. In doing this, we offer a wide-array of opportunities for people to serve. These ministries include: Backyard Bible School, Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, Food Bank, School Uniform and School Supply Ministry, AHEPA Bible Study, Alabama Children’s Home, Any Soldier Gift Boxes, Mexico Missions, Disaster Relief, Bereavement, and others.

Bayou Kids

Beginning February 3, 2019, on Sunday evenings from 5 to 6pm, to help disciple our children, Bayou Sara will offer Disciple-Town, a special time of spiritual formation and worship, allowing children a weekly opportunity for instruction and interaction best suited to their age and learning styles. Our Disciple-Town volunteers have an endless supply of creativity as they share the good news of Jesus to children. At the present time, Disciple-Town is for children K5 – 6th grade.

Bayou Students

Our food bank is an equal opportunity establishment that assists residents of Saraland who are in need. Our food bank is open every Tuesday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am and Thursday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm. It is located in Building C, the metal building in the rear parking lot. To receive assistance, you will need to have an ID and proof of residence.
